Ho! Ho! Ho! - NAC113

Happy Halloween! I thought I'd share a Christmas card for the occasion ;)

My card today is for the sketch challenge at Nacho Average Challenges. I love how all the details are in the little tag and then the designer series paper takes care of the rest of the card. I colored in the images with my Blendabilities markers. Even though I wasn't blending them, they still are great for coloring in any image without streaks.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: Get Your Santa On, Good Greetings
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White card stock; Trim the Tree DSP stack

Misc: Various Blendabilities, Pearls, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Cherry Cobbler 1" Sheer Ribbon, Silver Baker's Twine, Dimensionals

Butterflies in the Sunshine - SSC87

Sometimes when I sit down to make a card I know exactly what I'm going to do. Other times, like this card for the color challenge at Sunday Stamps, I just randomly start stamping and hope it'll turn into something. I sponged the middle of the sun with Daffodil Delight and then over top of that I sponged with Pumpkin Pie to give it a bit of a different look.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Kinda Eclectic, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Temping Turquoise, Cherry Cobbler

Paper: Temping Turquoise, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Glue Dots, Pearls, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch

Silver Christmas Bauble - CCMC326

This week's color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary is to use Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Silver. I went with making a Christmas card using the new single stamp Christmas Bauble. It was looking a little too simple, so I started to punch some silver stars to add on. By accident, 2 ended up on top of each other while I was punching them, and I liked the look so much that I decided to layer them up.

I like how the layered stars make little snowflakes!

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Christmas Bauble

Ink: Versamark

Paper: Mossy Meadow, Whisper White card stock, Silver Glimmer Paper

Misc: Lost Lagoon & Mossy Meadow Stampin' Write Markers, Oval Framelits, Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (star), Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Rhinestone, Lost Laggon 3/8" Silky Taffeta Ribbon

Black Cat Gift Box Punch Board Treat Holder

Here's a funny little treat holder I made for Halloween of a black cat using the new Gift Box Punch Board.

The punch board makes it so easy to make little gift boxes in a variety of sizes. I dressed mine up to look like a cat, but just plain with a ribbon is going to make some wonderful Christmas gift packaging.

To make his little nose, I punched out a heart and covered it with Crystal Effects.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Good Greetings

Ink: Silver Encore

Paper: Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Pear Pizzaz card stock

Misc: Gift Box Punch Board, Linen Thread, Glue Dots, Crystal Effects, Modern Label Punch, Triangle Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (heart)

Hardwood and Blooms - PPA225

As soon as I saw the sketch from Pals Paper Arts, I had an idea of what I wanted to do. It's always nice when what you see in your mind works out when you actually put it on paper too! :) Surprisingly the hardest part of this card was getting all the angles cut right.

As I've mentioned before, I'm really enjoying coloring much more than I ever expected when Stampin' Up! first released the Blendabilities markers. They are so much fun and I find it very relaxing to color with them.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Hardwood, Bloom with Hope

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Baked Brown Sugar, Old Olive

Paper: Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Pearls, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive Blendabilities

Stampin' Up! Canada Fall Conference Montreal

Friday and Saturday we had the Stampin' Up! Canada Fall Conference in Montreal. It was super fun to get together with a bunch of other SU demonstrators and play with different products.

On Friday, we made the following items and got a free stamp set woohoo!!

The star tag is a cute shaker frame. And yes, it's attached to a box we made using the new Gift Box Punch Board.

It was crazy working at different stations to build parts of each project for 10 minutes and then move on to the next one!

On Saturday morning we had a business session which has really inspired me. Hopefully I'll have some time and energy to get some new ideas off the ground! We got to meet Dale and Carrie from the Canadian head office as well Tanner from the US head office. Everyone was super nice and friendly.

Saturday afternoon was another fun afternoon with lots of projects and games. We played a jeopardy/family feud type game and my team came in second, so we'll be getting some free SU stuff :)

Here's me and my upline Jen having fun:

We also got to make the following items and got another stamp set! YAY!!

There was a card making contest to make a bright and cheery card to go to the Ronald McDonald House. I snapped off a couple quick pics of the display boards.

Can you spot my card? :)

Anyway, a super fun and busy two days. I'm so glad I got to take part in this event.  No card for my blog today since I wasn't home :)

If you're in the Montreal area and are interested in making your own Christmas cards, check out my event on November 15th! It takes place in Greenfield Park near Brossard and St-Hubert / Longueuil.

Starry Starry Night - TSSC337 & MM131

Two months until Christmas!! Today I made a Christmas card using non-traditional Christmas colors for the Merry Monday Challenge. I used the sketch challenge from Techno Stamper for the design. There are lots and lots of stars in this card, from the embossing folder to the stamping to the cut outs. I used my Big Shot a lot for this card compared to most of my cards, for all the different framelit cutting and embossing.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Good Greetings, White Christmas

Ink: Perfect Plum

Paper: Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette card stock; Silver Glimmer Paper

Misc: Circle Framelits, Star Framelits, Lucky Stars Embossing Folder, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Silver Baker's Twine, Rhinestone, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Sponge Dauber, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (small star)

Ink: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry

Paper: Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Whisper White card stock

Golden Gentle Peace - PP218 & AW27

I used the new set Gentle Peace again for today's card. Rather than coloring it, I embossed it in gold on Vellum and then attached it to Whisper White card stock and cut around it all. I used vellum for the current challenge at Around the World Stampin' Up! Challenges, and gold for the color challenge at the paper players.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Gentle Peace

Ink: Versamark

Paper: Whisper White, Brushed Gold card stock; Vellum

Misc: Gold Embossing Folder, Filigree Frame Embossing Folder, Gold Ribbon

Bright & Cheery Butterflies - PPA224

For today's card, I wanted to make something bright and cheery, after all the oranges and blacks of Halloween lately. I used the sketch from Pals Paper Arts as my inspiration. The colors in the Sweet Taffy DSP are all super bright and evoke a happy feeling. Not my usual colors, but I like how this turned out. There sure are a lot of layers on this card!

Ink: Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Temping Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie

Paper: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White card stock; Sweet Taffy DSP

Just for you - FMS158 & FF52

My card was picked last time as a Fab Four over at Fab Friday. Thanks so much for that recognition!

I wanted to use the Fab Friday colors to make a non-Halloween card, and this is what I ended up with. I stamped off the Blackberry Bliss and Tangelo Twist ink onto scrap paper to lighten it a bit. The orange and black still make it look kinda Halloween-y though. The Tangelo Twist sequins came in last month's Paper Pumpkin kit. I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this card. It was a different sketch for sure...

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Work of Art, Gorgeous Grunge

Ink: Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss

Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder, Tangelo Twist Sequins (Sept Paper Pumpkin), Glue Dots

Gentle Peace - TSSC336 & MM130

Today I'm sharing a card I made using the new Stampin' Up! set called Gentle Peace. I based my card on the sketch from Techno Stamper this week. I tried to keep the rest of the card pretty simple to not take away from all my Blendabilities coloring. I'm also entering this card in this week's "Silent Night" challenge at Merry Monday.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Gentle Peace

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Suede

Paper: Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Whisper White card stock

My card won as Top Nacho last week at Nacho Average Challenges. Thank you ladies so much!

Today's card is for the sketch challenge currently going on at Nacho Average Challenges. I'm not loving the little banners at the top of my card for some reason, but I tried a bunch of different things and that's the best I came up with.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Hey You, Petite Petals

Ink: Blackberry Bliss

Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White card stock; Moonlight DSP Stack
