Hi From a Hero - CTS82

The minute I saw the sketch challenge this week at CAS(E) This Sketch, I knew I wanted to use the new Calling All Heroes set. It's perfect for this sketch isn't it? I love this new set, and I think it's going to be used for lots of kid cards going forward. It's super fun to layer the different masks and heads together, and with all the letters you can spell out whatever you want.

The top looked a bit too empty to me, so I pulled out my paper piercing tool and mats, and added some designs. I always forget to use this, I'll try to start using it more I think. :)

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Calling All Heroes

Ink: Real Red, Pacific Point, Baked Brown Sugar

PaperReal Red, Pacific Point, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Paper Piercing Tool, rhinestones, glue dots, Beach House Washi (inside)

Three Rubber Duckies All in a Row - TSSC320

When I first saw this sketch on Techno Stamper, I thought I'd be using flowers in it, but then I wanted to do something different and my eyes landed on the cute rubber ducky stamp in the new Something for Baby set. Isn't it sweet? :)

You Little Furball - PPA209

I got another order of new Stampin' Up! stuff yesterday, and the first thing I pulled out was this adorable cat set. I've been hoping for a new cat (and dog) set since C is for Cat was retired, and there's one in the new catty! :)

This card is for the sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts this week. I love this new background stamp as well, it's got a great design to it. The In Color sequins finished this off perfectly. It's a bit hard to tell in the picture, but they are Baked Brown Sugar to match the kitty and sponging.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Handcarved, You Little Furball

Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon

Paper: Whisper White and Blackberry Bliss card stock

Misc: 1 3/4" circle punch, Circle framelits, dimensionals, In Color Sequin Assortment, Tombo Liquid Glue, sponge dauber

Lots of Sports & Lots of Colors - FabFri44

This week's challenge at Fab Friday is to use all the new In Colors in a single card. Quite a challenge! A lot of the cards I saw took on a rainbow type theme, but I wanted to get them all in differently. I also wanted to use my new Simply Sports set, so I figured it'd be a good excuse to create a masculine birthday card, perfect for one of the kids' friends or something. Here's what I ended up with:

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Simply Sports

Ink: Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist

Paper: Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Bitty Banners framelits, sponge daubers, dimensionals

Yellow Blended Birthday Bloom - NAC95

Today's card is for this week's sketch challenge at Nacho Average Challenges. I love how this flower pops on the Blackberry Bliss DSP. Purple and yellow are one of my favorite color combinations, so that's what I went with here.

The Blendabilities markers from Stampin' Up! are going to be available to you very soon. I love them much more than I thought I would, and I especially love how they can color rhinestones and pearls to match your theme.

For the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday from the Hey You set, and then I cut it into two strips to match the sketch.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Blended Bloom, Hey You

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Coastal Cabana

Paper: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White card stock; Moonlight DSP stack

Misc: Blendabilities markers, rhinestones, dimensionals

6 Months Until Christmas! ;)

That's right folks! 6 months from today is Christmas! :D

Even though I love Christmas, I'm not too anxious for it just yet, seeing as how summer is just finally starting here in Montreal, but I still figured I'd turn the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday into a Christmas card. Unfortunately most of my Christmas sentiment stamps are retired, like this one from last year. I'll have to stock up on some new ones once the holiday catalog comes out!

The star punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack fits perfectly inside the smallest star in the Star Framelits collection, which is awesome!

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Joy to the World

Ink: Elegant Eggplant

Paper: Bermuda Bay, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White card stock; silver glimmer paper

Misc: Circle framelits, Star framelits, Itty Bitty Punches (star), Stylish Stripes embossing folder, dimensionals, glue dots, rhinestones

Abstract & Multi Textured Card - CCMC308

The colors for this week's challenge at Create With Connie and Mary are definitely not something I would normally put together. I didn't have any current DSP in any of these colors, so I decided to make my background with the brush stroke stamps from Work of Art. I loved the abstract look so much that I decided to finish it off with some washi and punched stars and leave it as is. Simple, yet lots of different textures.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Work of Art

Ink: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry

Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Red Glimmer Paper

Misc: Beach House washi tape, Itty Bitty Accents punch pack (star punch), glue dots

To finish off the inside, I punched some little stars into the white paper so the red shows through.

Watercolor Thank You Sketch

I made today's card for the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. I love this color combination of Blackberry Bliss and Crisp Cantaloupe. I made the background by using one of the stamps from Work of Art in Crisp Cantaloupe, which I stamped off first each time so the colour was lighter. Then I randomly stamped the flower from Bloom With Hope overtop in Blackberry Bliss. I changed the little banners in the sketch to come out of the oval instead of the top.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!):

Stamps: Watercolor Thank You, Bloom With Hope, Work of Art

Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Crisp Cantaloupe

Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White card stock; Moonlight DSP stack

Misc: Oval framelits, Blackberry Bliss Satin Stitched ribbon, sponge daubers, dimensionals, rhinestones

Lost Lagoon Love Story - PPA208

Today's card is based on the sketch at Pals Paper Arts. I changed it up a bit but kept it pretty similar. I love using the Regarding Dahlias stamp for a background. The silver glimmer paper looks awesome with the Lost Lagoon.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up):

Stamps: Regarding Dahlias, Label Love

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper: Silver glimmer paper; Whisper White, Basic Black, Lost a Lagoon card stock

Misc: Fancy Fan embossing folder, Artisan Label punch, rhinestones, dimensionals

Praying for You - SSC78

Today's card is based on the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps. Instead of using one of my new sets, I pulled out one of the sets I've had for the longest that is still current. I remember when this tree stamp came out and how much I loved it (still do!)

The banners didn't seem to fit with the rest of the card so I switched to some flowers instead.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers

Ink: Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon, Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar

Paper: Mossy Meadow, Whisper White card stock; All Abloom DSP stack

Misc: Deco Labels framelits, sponge daubers, Whisper White Organza ribbon, Itty Bitty Accents punch pack, rhinestones

Flowering Sympathy card - NAC94

I really like the color combination this week at Nacho Average Challenge. I used a combination of some new and existing stamps together for this card. I like this washi on the top and bottom to tie it all together.

Stamps: Flowering Flourishes, Petite Petals, Bloom With Hope

Ink: Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, Island Indigo

Paper: Whisper White, Island Indigo card stock

Misc: Petite Petals punch, Island Indigo candy dots, Beach House washi, glue dots

Happy Graduation! - TSSC319

Today's card is a special one, my stepson is graduating from elementary school this week. High school starts in the fall, yikes! I based it on the sketch challenge from Techno Stamper. I love the new stars framelits, it was easy to make the layers stars for this card. It's a bit hard to see, but I coloured the rhinestones yellow and green as well.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Memorable Moments, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Be the Star

Ink: Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow

Paper: Mossy Meadow, Sahara Sand, Whisper White card stock; Moonlight DSP stack

Misc: Star framelits, Arrows embossing folder, dimensionals, rhinestones

Work of Art - FabFri43

Today's card, inspired by the sketch challenge at Fab Friday, started out as a single layer card, but it looked too plain so I cropped it and added a frame around it.

I masked off the strip in the middle while I stamped the background in Crumb Cake ink with Gorgeous Grunge. Then I used some of the new In Color inks to stamp the hearts and sentiment from the Work of Art stamp set. I finished it off with some new washi and ribbon, and I colored a few rhinestones yellow with my Blendabilities to give it a bit of bling.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Work of Art

Ink: a Crumb Cake, Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon

Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Lost Lagoon Stitched Satin ribbon,
Beach House washi tape, Envelope Punch board, rhinestones, Daffodil Delight Blendabilities

Bloom With Hope - CCMC307

I just realized how many of the new stamp sets have the word Bloom in their name... Seems like almost every stamp set I use does :)

I had most of my card for this week's sketch challenge at Create With Connie and Mary done pretty quickly and then I sat at my desk for at least 30 minutes trying out different combinations or buttons and punched images to use where the 2 little flowers are in the sketch. In the end, I decided to use the recently retired :( large rhinestones, which I colored with my Coastal Cabana Blendabilities marker and attached to the Basic Metal Buttons. Still not sure how I feel about them but I give up! :)

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!):

Stamps: Bloom With Hope

Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento; Old Olive, Daffodil Delight & Coastal Cabana Blendabilities

Paper: Basic Grey, Whisper White card stock; Moonlight DSP stack; All Abloom DSP stack

Misc: Oval framelits, Basic Metal buttons, Silver ribbon, rhinestones

Hello There Beach House - PPA207 & AW19

Today's card was inspired by the color challenge at Pals Paper Arts and the theme challenge at Around the World Stampin' Up! Challenges. Since this new washi is both Real Red and has squares in it, I figured it'd be perfect for both challenges. This card is super simple, doesn't require a lot of products, and could easily be used for many other cards with different washi and sentiments.

Recipe (all Stampin' Up!)

Stamps: Hello There

Ink: Night of Navy

Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White card stock

Misc: Beach House washi tape, Regals Candy Dots, Dimensionals

Stamps: Blended Bloom, Flamingo Lingo

Ink: Memento black ink, Blackberry Bliss; Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities
